At Gemini Prototyping we use 3 rapid tooling systems:
1 - Aluminium-filled Cast Epoxy Resin
2 - DMLS - Direct Metal Laser Sintering
3 - CNC high-speed machining - primarily in Aluminium

We would normally select the most appropriate method depending on the geometry of the part, and the numbers of mouldings required, or use a combination of two or three methods where such a strategy is advantageous.

The main advantage of our rapid tooling is that it allows you to test prototype parts in design intent materials, without the expense or lead times associated with a more traditional toolmaking route. This method gives a fast, cost effective evaluation of the design function, but also has the advantage of making low volume production parts in engineering type plastics a viable option.
